I remember getting a call on my cell phone from Michael Campbell. It was a Friday morning and I was winding down my working day to head to downtown Vancouver to go to a concert to see the ’80’s parody metal act Gwar…
Michael said “Colin, drop whatever plans you have tonight because Ken McCarthy has been reviewing your astounding success and wants you to have dinner with him tonight”
So I agreed to drop my plans for the night and meet for dinner and miss the opening bands at the Commodore Ballroom (The Commodore is an amazing venue with spring loaded dance floor) and have dinner with Michael and Ken.
At the end of the dinner after, of course, talking internet marketing throughout the evening….
Ken McCarthy sat back in his chair shaking his head with a huge grin on his face and said this to me:
“Colin, this is THE most profound conversation I have had about Internet marketing in a VERY long time…..”
Next, I was faced with having to prepare yet another presentation because what Ken said next was:
“Colin, you must come and present this information at my seminar in Chicago…”
While I prefer to quietly make money out of the public spotlight, I ALWAYS seize opportunity when it lands in my lap…
So I reluctantly agreed to give a presentation to thousands of people at the Systems Seminar in Chicago last spring…
